An Auteur’s Champagne — Between Tradition and Modernity
A passionate young winemaker based in Avize, at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Étienne Calsac embodies a new generation of committed Champenois.
Since 2010, he has been breathing new life into his family’s vineyard through an artisanal, sustainable, and terroir-driven approach. On just over three hectares spread across Avize, Grauves, Bisseuil, and the Côte de Sézanne, he cultivates mostly Chardonnay, while reviving forgotten heirloom varieties such as Petit Meslier, Arbane, and Pinot Blanc.
Parcel-based vinifications, indigenous yeasts, low dosage, and extended ageing give birth to Champagnes of precision, elegance, and deep identity. A true discovery for discerning palates.
