The Château de Beaucastel vineyard, owned by the Perrin family, covers 100 hectares, three quarters of which is given over to the appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Its terroir with its rounded pebbles on the surface, underlain by sand, clay and limestone, is emblematic of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate is also one of the only businesses to vinify all 13 grape varieties authorised by the appellation, grown according to organic farming methods for fifty years , thus giving these wines their signature purity of flavour and perfect expression of the terroir’s characteristics.
Outstanding ageing potential.

The 1988 vintage showcases the complexity and balance characteristic of the Beaucastel style. The wine reveals aromas of ripe fruit, spices, leather and forest floor. The structure is harmonious, with freshness still present. A great classic from the Southern Rhône.
